What happened to September??!!
Great ski swap this Saturday- and HUGE shoutout to everyone who helped it run smoothly. Thank you everyone for your patience. For those of you looking for gear- Track and Trail in Edmonton and Trail Sports in Canmore have been a great help to use. As well Stussi Sports in Vernon are great over the phone and ships gear to GP for free. If you're not sure- please just call Claire.
The weather is changing and we're getting snow this week!!!! WootWoot!! SO- please dress appropriately for the change in weather. Long underwear, dressing in layers and most of all- check the manual for ski specific gear that will help you be more comfortable in the colder temperatures. We still wear runners- but I don't recommend ankle socks- yes, they're cool, but I don't need to hear anyone whine about how cool they're actually feeling... things like that. :)
Team Uniforms- I will be putting in an order for Team Uniforms- please email clairerichter@me.com with your needs/intentions so that I can get athletes sized up this week. ____________________________________
Tuesday: Meet at Muskoseepi and bring your outdoor yoga mat please if you have one. I have 4 in my car and we can share. Juniors- bring your runners!!
Thursday: Meet on the Dunes Road (3-way stop closest to Hwy 40)- there's a pullout by the mailboxes just off of the intersection. BRING YOUR POLES!! :D Juniors: Bring your bikes please. If you have a Wapiti Jacket that is size Small Adult- can you please bring it to practice?? I need it to size up a few people.
Saturday: I know that it's Thanksgiving this weekend, but if you're around, we're Roller Skiing- Skate Skiing- distance ski. Bikes for Juniors. Bring your team vests*, helmets, water bottles, snacks ski boots and poles and if you have skate roller skis, bring those as well. We will meet in the new subdivision of Kensington. It's found on Flying shot lake Road and the Costco road. Specific address: Township Road 712A (Flying shot lake road) and 120 street- which eventually veers around to 84 Ave.
* no vests= no roller skiing.
