February 3-9, 2025.
Well let's hope this deep freeze is over before Tuesday's practice (it's not looking hopeful) and I'm pretty sure we have enough snow now- or my shoveling arms think so anyway! Let's get some good skiing in the end of this week/next week in time to prep for our last Alberta Cup of the season!

Reminders:
1. Calforex cup is this coming weekend, there will be no regular practice to accommodate the races and staying out of their way/helping out with volunteering/racing (registration closes Sunday night/tonight.
2. Red Deer registration is open, please click HERE and register for all 3 events. We will figure out relay teams (Friday Night Lights) on Friday afternoon. Costumes will be here this week and distributed- white shirts/hoodies are on sale at Michaels's (thank you coach Krista) if you need. Also, I encourage you to stay for Sunday afternoon/evening as Nordiq Alberta is hosting their year end party and awards, and as we usually aren't able to attend, this is a great way to represent! To register for the banquet and celebration and to get details please click HERE. Reminder that Monday is Family Day long weekend, so we will have all day Monday to travel back to GP too!
3. Race Team- please mark on your calendars Thursday March 6th is Teacher's convention (the day before we leave for the Tawatinaw Camp) we (the race team) are helping teach the teachers of GP how to ski (it's a fundraiser for us)! Please make sure you keep this date marked on your calendars and details are to come.
4. Tawatinaw training camp is now combined with the provincial camp which means we have grants that are being applied to the cost and the cost is now (all inclusive) $250/athlete. Which is way better than what I was getting and so please mark off your calendars for March 7-9. We will need drivers please as coaches are unable to drive athletes (coaches will travel in 1 car). This price includes food, accommodations, coaching, trail passes, and I'm hoping the loppet fees (I'm wainting on confirmation for this). It will be a great opportunity to enjoy skiing with others across the province in a beautiful place.

Tuesday: Looks like we will be indoors... swimming. Yes, I can hear you all groan. To be fair, I suggested the pool stairs and Mika said no... so you can thank her later. We will have your workout ready for you, please meet on the pool deck for 5:30pm. If you will be running in the water, please also have your water belt ready. We seem to waste time being confused and not super excited...
Thursday: SKIING!!! Classic- to be exact. You will all need to come early to cover your klister (or better yet, clean it off). We are doing race prep for Red Deer so it's an important workout to have good skis.
Saturday: Classic Ski practice- get out and ski! No stopping, zone 1 tempo ski and explore the trails! Clock your kms and let the coaches know how far you skied today. Prizes on Tuesday...
