If you are 12 and older, you will need to bring your helmet, ski boots, ski poles and skate roller skis if you have your own. If you don't- we have team ones. So don't worry. Bring runners and waterbottles also please and wear a bright coloured shirt.
Saturday: Mountain Excursion Day! Please let me know if you're planning on making it this week.
It's going to be a long day- like a 14 hour day. There's about 7.5 hours of driving which is why the day is so long. We will meet at the Costco Parking lot for 7:00am sharp and car pool as best as we can. I will have my box on top of my car and will pack it with bags and back packs. Coaches will travel together. We will travel through Dawson Creek for safety purposes and meet at the visitor centre, before heading out to the actual hiking site. Please locate and put in your GPS' the Holzworth Meadows hike. We will be summiting 3 peaks on this hike, so it's a workout.
You will need to bring:
- a day back pack with functional straps
- a lunch and a bunch of snacks
- money for a quick supper stop in Dawson Creek on our way back (fast food)
- 2-3L of water
- a rain jacket
- clothes for hiking in that you can layer (t-shirt or tank, long sleeve, sweater, pants, shorts)
- a jacket that you can hike in that has some warmth to it
- poles for hiking if you need them
- gloves or mitts and a buff
- a hat or toque
- sunglasses
- if you have hiking boots, great. Your feet will get wet on this trip.
- a change of clothes (shirt, pants, socks)
- a dry pair of shoes (sandals, crocs are fine)
