January 10-16, 2022

A huge congratulations to the racers who were in Canmore!! It was a chilly ski, but so nice to finally have weather we could ski in! I'm so grateful that we could race and am hopeful that Red Deer will go ahead as well.

In the meantime... we have lots to work on- including just skiing. SO- with all the snow that has fallen, it will take a while for the groomers to get out, so please be patient with where we go for skiing. We are officially behind in our training and although doing well, we have work to do. We missed out on the long hours of just zone 1 skiing that we usually do over the Christmas holidays AND we've missed out time with tempo skiing and quick feet practice. So much to do and so little time!

SKI CAMP: POSTPONED TO FEB 26th Saturday January 15th- 9:00-4:00pm with Ivan Babikov. There is no cost to this camp, it's being paid for my your hard fundraising over the summer time! See Saturday for details and schedule.

*Remember to text Claire what you would like to work on with Ivan please and I'll add it to the schedule.

________

Tuesday: Classic skiing- we will see how much trail the groomers were able to get done. It'll be a zone 1 ski, so please bring your headlamps. Your wax that you have on for tonight will also be used to Saturday so put on a few extra layers. :)

Thursday: I'm hoping for skate skiing. It'll be a fast night, so we might as well ski fast! :) We're actually going to do some downhill work this practice for those athletes who have been hoping we will get some time in on the downhills. Dress warmly as this practice can get a bit chilly towards the end.

Saturday: Jackrabbits will be occurring so we will be in the timing tower- upstairs and down, masks while inside please. Bring a snack!!

Seniors: 9:00-1:00 (9-11)- CLASSIC; (11-1)- SKATE

Juniors: 10:00-12 - regular practice time. Classic practice!
