Well I'm not sure where winter went in GP, but it's still ski season and winter seems to not care. 😡 I would like to thank Coach Caribou, Coach Doris, Coach Theresa and Coach Shannon for working with the team while I was away. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and to see how things have gone with your training!! 👌

Coach Doris sent the coaches a very vivid trail update from Jasper which seems to unfortunately describe our trails and I quote: "Groomed XC trails: grim or grim with stick or slick with frozen chunks. Not a chance this can be remedied until it snows. Until it snows, expect major shrapnel/debris on all trails, deadfall, evidence of serious plunge, followed by a freeze of ankle-breaking proportions. Depending on temps, either a mush fest, ice fest, ice-like Jasper Area, or cavity rattling ice with shin bustin' crust. No joke!"
Yuck! In regards to us, I'm not sure what we can do but will assess the training plans and what we have left and go from there! 😞

For those of you unaware, Nordiq Alberta has made a change to their vaccination/PCR requirements for races effective Feb 9th.
As per the most recent changes by the Government of Alberta, Nordiq Alberta will follow the recommendations of no longer requiring a proof of COVID-19 vaccination or PCR testing for Nordiq Alberta sanctioned events. Nordiq Alberta will continue to implement mandatory masking indoors and recommends the use of masking outdoors. Self assessment questionnaires will remain in place until the end of the Nordiq Alberta 2021/22 racing calendar and all participants will have to continue to register through zone4 in order to receive these forms.
