January 2-7th, 2024.

Thank you everyone for being flexible and rolling with the changes these past few weeks. Thank you coaches for remaining flexible and trying to live your lives around the ever changing times, and thank you parents for being on top of all the requests, forms, time changes and finding us snow!! It takes a village!

Regular times for practice this week as coaches are all back to work!

1. Alberta Winter Games trials- date change due to the potential cold weather in the forecast coming our way. We cannot host a race for U14 athletes past -15oC. Please ensure that you're registered!

2. Alberta Cup Races 3 & 4- please ensure you register (see last week's blog for the link) soon, the deadline is earlier than usual.

3. Arctic Winter Games team- please ensure you send Claire a copy of your passports- so sorry I didn't ask for that sooner!

Tuesday & Thursday- Flying shot lake: 5:45-7:15. Dress for the changing weather please and headlamps and water bottles. Skate both days.

Trials- Thursday evening: 1.5km circuit: U12 will do 3km, U14 will do 4.5km and U16 will do 6km. Yes, you'll have to count! U16 will start at 6:15pm; U14 & U12 will start at 6:40/6:45. Registration will be at the cars at 5:40pm. Bring your rock skis!! 😑

Saturday- Flying Shot Lake- 10-12. Check Environment Canada at 9:00am AND check the windchill factor as well. There's NO coverage on the lake, so it matters. If it's colder than -20oC there will be no official training as it's just too exposed on the lake. If the afternoon warms up, then I may be available to ski on the lake with athletes but it will depend on the forecast. Check TeamSnap for updates.

March 25-31, 2024.
