February 2-8, 2026

Where has this season gone?? This coming weekend is our FINAL Alberta Cup race weekend!! 🤯 We still have a lot to cover though as we're not even 1/2 way through yet!! 🙌 A huge thank you to parents and coaches for navigating the roads last night. Gaultier's, thanks for taking one for the team and filling us in on the highway chaos. I'm pretty sure your roads were worse as it warmed up last night as we cruised through. Not ideal, but I'm grateful everyone made it home safely!! Congratulations to the team who representated at Westerns!! I am so proud of you guys for racing in crowds similar (or more in some cases) than Nationals- there were over 730 athletes each day! It was pure chaos, heroic racing, and at times a bit too exciting for my liking, and I'm looking forward to a quieter weekend in Edmonton! 😎

Thank you coach Krista and Doris and Grandpa Charlie for holding down the home front, collecting our team gear, and navigating the Arctic Winter Games staging event! There's a lot of excitement on the go this season!

TuesdayCome collect your Arctic Winter Games walk-out gear. We will hand them after practice (we will be off snow a bit early to accommodate for this). We will classic! Yup it's going to be gross, but we continue to have work to do! Coach Doris said there's a track- so we're going out on fish scales, skins, or whatever we can get our hands on. If you own a pair of rock skis- tonight would be a good time to use them.

Thursday: Bring your food, be ready to wax your skis and pack in world record time!! 😁 Please note, I will need parent vehicles please to help bring gear down to Edmonton (thank you Rikki and Krista for taking the tent and gear). Every space helps! Skate skiing race prep practice and then waxing.

Those not racing in Edmonton you can come and hang out and help pack things up too! There will be no practice for you in GP as all coaches will be in Edmonton for our last, non-games race weekend. We will skate today!

Friday: Meet at Goldbar Park (10955-50St) for 2:30pm. We will train (I will need parents to help set up the tent/waxing area please), athletes will put their skis away, and you have the evening off. Team meeting will be at 7:30 via ZOOM

Saturday: Classic technique distance ski. Follow your race plans (come 2 hours before your start time)! Parking is always a challenge at this venue so if you can carpool that would be great! Team supper is booked for 6:30pm at the Pasta Pantry under Claire for 40 people.

Team meeting will be in the restaurant.

Sunday: Classic club team relay. Again, follow your race plans (come 2 hours before your start time) and then when you're packed up and heading out please ensure that you just let one of the coaches know. If you drove gear down, please ensure that you take it back with you also! We will try to have everything packed up by the time you're ready to leave, or will need help getting it all done.
