October 12-18, 2026
Well Saturday's practice was fun!!! Thank you team for joining us for that fun chaos! It sure was nice to get out skiing. As we knew it would, we're back to dryland training for now. 😐 But skiing for Thanksgiving weekend was awesome and I'm optimistic that we will have a great season!

1. Registration is ready and open and it looks a bit different as there are changes. Group fees are now pro-rated to how many days you are training with the team for and have been added into the totals. Please select 1, 2, or 3 x/week that your athlete(s) are training for and then select 1 or 2 payment instalments. Again, we suggest you e-transfer if you can, as you will save on zone4 fees (when e-transfering please note that you're paying XC fees and name of the athlete- please do not assume that last names will indicate whom you are paying for and then please email Doris when you have completed this (and your choice or 1 or 2 payments for # of days of training), as there's no way of tracking this properly unfortunately and it'll keep our accounting updated better. You will have to pay your Nordic Alberta and Nordic Canada fees online however, so please be prepared for this during your registration process. you can register here. Thank you everyone for your patience and please have fees and payments in by the end of October. ALSO- we strongly suggest you purchasing your WNSC membership this month as it's on sale and fees are going up to help cover the astounding costs of diesel for our grooming equipment! Thank you everyone!
2. The team has decided that they would like puffy jackets this year as their equipment choice. As these run at quite a cost, it will be an option, but not the team wear. The team wear will be a ski vest this year and forms were handed out on Saturday (those of you not here will get yours on Tuesday). It also has the entire uniform order on it and ALL orders ned to be in by October 27th please. One addition that I noticed after I had printed off the forms, is that Jackets and Vests can have an addition of "refelctive piping" across the seams for an additionsl $6.25 per item. If this is something that you're interested in having added to your order please make a note of it on the form.
3. Race licenses- these are now only for U16 athletes and older. If you had one last year and you're still in U14, you will not be eligible for one this season. Nordiq Canada has made some major changes this season. More to come, but those athltes U16 and older who are planning on racing at Cross Country Skiing events outside of Grande Prairie, will need a licenses. You cna purchase it here.

Tuesday and Thursday: Please meet at Muskoseepi pavilion. Please dress approriately for the weather and bring runners and water bottles.
Saturday: Meet at the ski club parking lot. I will need parental support for this workout. If I can have 2 vehicles shuttling down athletes, I would really appreciate it. This is all dependent on no ice on the roads, no frost... the list is long, so check TeamSnap BEFORE heading out to practice. We will be classic roller skiing so come prepared. U12's you will be biking with Coach Doris, bring all the right gear please.
